Thermal wear (Base Layer once you reach a campsite)

A base layer is thermal wool or synthetic material that is worn next to the skin. It helps regulate body temperature by adding an insulating layer between your skin and other clothes. Base layers are designed to be worn beneath other clothing but still be able to keep you warm when it’s cold, and cool when it’s hot. To do this they must be thin enough to fit beneath your other layers of clothing but still provide warmth/cooling while you need.
